This atypical retail stores universe was co-founded and is currently owned by two atypical guys. Legend has it that the idea emerged when the two long time friends, Ryan and Rob were driving south on Highway 395, north of Reno, Nevada. It was a late summer night and they had been fishing all day. Rob was sipping on a crazy root beer that he discovered in a nearby mountain town. Ryan was chomping away on an Abba Zabba bar and driving at speeds, as Rob would later say “like the speed of my grandmother going uphill on a skateboard.” Rob finished his root beer and took over the driving. He insisted on arriving back to Reno before winter struck. They rocketed down 395 both under the influence of a lot of sugar. As the car raced south so did their imaginations. Suddenly, a barrage of shooting stars darted across the moonless sky. They pulled over and watched, and exchanged hundreds of words a minute. Ten minutes later the two sugar rushes and crazy imaginations had given birth to the Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop concept. And now, Ryan can chomp away on all of the Abba Zabbas he desires and Rob can sip away on not just one but on over forty different root beers.
